Faculty Bio

Suejin Jung, piano

 

Korean American pianist, Ms. Jung, has made her solo debut at age 14 in Steinway Hall in New York.  She has appeared in various concert venues through the states including Cami Hall, Carnegie Weil Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Count Basie Theatre.  She has been a featured soloist with the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra, Monmouth Symphony Orchestra and Ruse Philharmonic.  She was a finalist in the New York International Piano Competition and a prizewinner of Julia Crane International Piano Competition where her performance was broadcasted in the PBS documentary “Piano Forte”. She has won top prizes in Young Pianist Competition of New Jersey and the Greater Princeton Steinway Society.

 

Ms. Jung has moved to the U.S. at the age of 11 to study with Julian Martin at Juilliard Pre-College and has received Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree at The Juilliard School studying with Julian Martin and Joseph Kalichstein. She has participated in several music festivals including Banff Centre, Mendelssohn Academy in Leipzig, Fontainebleau Festival in France where she received full scholarships, Gijon Piano Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival and New York Keyboard Institute.  She has worked in master classes with numberous notable artists including Arie Vardi, Robert McDonald, Jerome Lowenthal, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Christian Ivaldi, Emanuel Krasovsky, Nelita True, and Jon Perry.

 

Ms. Jung has been awarded an education outreach fellowship at Juilliard and is a member of, Lyrica Chamber Music, a non-profit organization in her hometown, Chatham, New Jersey.
